Define project involvement roles for team members
RACI stands for responsible, accountable, consulted, and informed. Each represents a role a team member will play during the project and ensures that ownership expectations are set clearly from the start.
A RACI Matrix should be created at the start of a project to outline who is involved and define the role they are going to play.
Responsible: individuals that are directly responsible for the project, phase, or task.
Accountable: individuals that are accountable for certain aspects of the project, phase, or task.
Consulted: often reviewers, these are individuals who have subject matter expertise or can provide directional guidance to the project, phase, or task.
Informed: individuals or teams that should be informed of the work.
