Flowchart

Flowcharts are often used as an essential, early stage step in the designing and planning process. These visualizations group shapes, lines, or arrows to show you what order a process should follow.

When teams aren’t sure where to begin, a flowchart helps them see the bigger picture — a visual medium to break down the stages and steps to the outcome they desire, while reducing confusion or miscommunications along the way.

What is a flowchart?

A flowchart is a diagram that utilizes shapes and arrows to visualize a process in sequential order to a desired outcome or end goal.

Each shape, color of the shape, and/or image within a flowchart diagram identifies essential steps, and in what order these steps should be accomplished. Additionally, arrows are used to connect these shapes as a guide for viewers to follow the shapes and steps in the correct order.
